April Writing Update
The years seems to be slipping past rapidly- it’s almost the end of April. I used to be sceptical of my grandmother’s words when she repeatedly maintained that time went faster as one got older but it’s come to a point where I think she may be right.
The end of March was the ten year anniversary of the publication of my first novel, Bilgarra Springs. It really doesn’t seem that long. It seemed a fitting moment to release the Bilgarra Springs Trilogy Boxed Set. I still think I’d like to add a prequel entitled Isabella to the series. It might be nice after all this time to meet the woman behind it all.
After commencing and pausing multiple novels, I’ve finally found a way forward. The next novel to be published will be Discovering Ellie. It deals with three topics close to my heart – writing, Scotland and witches- so it’s time to put my head down and get it finished.
It’s partially set in the early years of the seventeenth century just after The Great Scottish Witch Hunt of 1597. I’ve chosen a true story to sit at the heart of the novel and it’s clear evidence of the saying, “No good deed goes unpunished.”
I have absolutely no idea how long it will take to finish but I’m roughly half way there, so I think it would be fairly safe to say it should be out towards the end of the year. If that date changes I’ll be sure to let you know.
Be safe.
