This winter has seen some crazily low temperatures here. I had a chuckle when I was I was reading through the manuscript for Alex. During a cold snap in their Tasmania adventure, Alex says, ‘I like the cold, but I like Newcastle-cold. This is another level.’ I could fully empathise with that statement!

Snow has fallen in places not far from me, which has meant we have been experiencing unusually cold conditions, with none of the benefit! My cat, Mish, has taken to sitting in the airstream from the reverse-cycle heaters. He doesn’t seem to be enjoying the cold snap.

I had a brief reprieve when I went north for a couple of days to stay with my daughter, joined by my joined my mother and aunt, and my daughter’s bridesmaid, to shop for a wedding dress for my daughter’s wedding next year.

Given the Reluctant Bridesmaid book series focuses on weddings, the ritual of trying on dresses aided by champagne, and tears when the dress was found, was timely. We may even have had a couple of moments which would lend themselves to appearing in a story 🙂

In terms of writing updates, Addy was released on 17 July and is available on Amazon. Alex has gone off to be proofread, and is available for preorder on Amazon. The writing of Angel starts tomorrow.

I’m really looking forward to writing Angel. As much as I love preparing a book for publication, I love writing more and this story has taken shape fabulously while I’ve been working on the mechanics of Alex. So keen to jump in.

Take care and I look forward to reporting on writing progress at the end of August.
